George Benson, Tell It Like It Is (1969)

Fridays lunch record is "George Benson, Tell It Like It Is" (1969). This fine album sifts through funk soul jazz with a a bit of latin flavor thrown in to make it savory. It was recorded at three different sessions for A&M records. A host of top musicians are included such as Richard Tee (piano), Bob Bushnell or Jerry Jemott (bass), Leo Morris (drums), Arthur Clark, Joe Farell (sax) and many more.George's guitar playing is explorative tastey fun leading this excellent jazz album. The YouTube sample song is "Dontcha Hear Me Callin' To Ya" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CA1xlDwe6XE . . . . bucko
