This was his last album which was recorded shortly before his death in a car crash the world lost an enormous talent. Wednesday's lunch record is "The Byrds, Turn, Turn, Turn" (1966). This is classic landmark folk rock album that swept the nation. This young group of musicians took the popular song "Turn, Turn, Turn" oenned by Pete Seeger. JimMcguinn (guitar) adapted this tune when he worked with Judy Collins in 1963. Tuesday's lunch record is "Harry Belefonte, Calypso" (1956). This was a giant hit album that stayed a number one selling record for several months. Hary Belafonte layed that cutting blues edge into his music from Jamaica and the islands. His musical style helped pave the way for the onslaught of raggae music. Wednesday's lunch record is "The Dave Brubeck Quartet, Time Out" (1959). This is a stand out jazz exploration album. Dave takes the listener on a trip through many different time signatures. Instead of the traditional 4/4 time used in most jazz, blues and rock we are introduced  to an array of different tempo's.  There is 9/4time, 3/4 time, 6.4 time and on the giant hit "Take Five" it is played in 5/4 time . Tuesday's lunch record is"J.B. Hutto & The Hawks, Masters Of Modern Blues Vol. 2" (1967). This is the blues, Chicago style blues, that is, J.B takes the vocals and guitar. His specialty is the bottleneck guitar. He was influenced by the great Elmore James and matered the technique and took it to new heights within the blues idiom. On this record he is joined by Johnny Youn (guitat, Big Walter Horton (harmonica), Lee Jackson (bass) and Fred Below (drums).  Eight of the ten songs are his compositions. Badfinger, Magic Christian Music By (1970)

Friday's lunch record is "Badfinger, Magic Christian Music By"  (1970). This album came out on the "Apple" record label. Three of the songs were included in the movie "Magic Christian" The song "Come And Get It" was written by Paul McCartney which was a rock radio hit.. Many of the tracks have a distinct Beatles similarity. Several of the songs were songs remixed recordings that they had recorded under their previous name "The Iveys". Thursday's lunch record is"Ray Bryant, Lonesome Traveler" (1966). This is a fine jazz recording of Ray massaging the notes from his piano and his trio of bass and drums. They are joined by a couple of horns to layer in that soulful feel. It has a clean earthy expression with that soft touch of sophistication. This certainly a quality jazz adventure. This album was recorded in Los Angeles for the Blue Thumb record label. This record was produced by his former band leader during the ffifties, Ike Turner. Earl was well known for his guitar skills and was respected by some of the best. Albert Collins, B.B. King and Jimi Gendrix. Tuesday's lunch record is "Bill Black's Combo, Let's Twist Her" (1962). The hot new dance craze that took the world by storm. Everybody jumped on the bandwagon to cash in on this new trend. Dance groups  show bands, pop to soul even big bands were grinding out twist records. Young folks and old alike were diggin' doing this new dance and buying twist records.
