Gato Barbieri, Under Fire (1973)

Monday's lunch record is "Gato Barbieri, Under Fire" (1973). A smooth sailing blend of exeotic latin free jazz. His tenor sax speaks a progressive layer of melodic jazz lines. His group consists of Lonnie Liston Smith on piano, Stanley Clark on bass with Airto Moreira on  drums along with other pleasing musicians. This is a high quality recording on "The Flying Dutchman" label and prroduced by Bob Theil. The YouTube sample song is "El Parana" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scKRl61wxNw . . . . bucko
