Canned Heat, Vintage (1970) r.1966
Wednesday's lunch record is "Canned Heat, Vintage (1970) r.1966. This classic Canned Heat album was produced by rythm & blues legend Johnny Otis. The music all of which is blues was recorded in 1966 but wasn't released to album format until 1970 to the delight of many Canned Heat lovers. They covered these "Spoonful" by Willie Dixon, "Rollin' And Tunblin' " by Muddy Waters, "Got My Mojo Working" by Muddy Waters. "Pretty Thing" by "Willie Dixon", "Louise" by Howling Wolf, "Dimples" by John Lee Hooker, "Can't Hold On Much Longer" by Little Walter plus a few of their own songs which are also rooted in the blues. Bob Hite growls oout the vocals on all tracks. The YouTube sample song is "Spoonful" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2maepX1lU8 . . . . bucko
