B.B. King, Completely Well (1969)
Tuesday's lunch record is "B.B. King, Completely Well" (1969). This is the premiere blues album that should be the staple in every blues collection. Each song is performed powerfully soulful. Jerry "Finger" Germott adds that special funk and grit with his Bass playing, Hugh McCrakken challenges and compliments B.B. with his skillful guitar playing. Paul Harris on piano and organ, Herbie Lovelle on drums. Songs include "The Thrill is Gone", "Crying Won't Help You Now", Your Mean", along with others. I had the pleasure of seeing B.B. live when this album came out. Being 16 at the time I was blown away. The YouTube sample is "Confessin' The Blues" & "What Happened" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg0-y8CTS-8 . . . . .bucko
