This double gate-fold album is Vol. 2 of 12 in the roots of rock n' roll series. Todays listen is sides 1 & 2. This album features the strength of the powerful women of R&B that paved the musical highway that morphed into rock. Singers include Albina jones, Helen Humes, Varetta Dillard, Little Miss Sharecropper, Dolly Cooper, Annie Laurie. Many great musicians including Heywood Henry (baritone sax), Hal Singer (tenor sax), Roy Milton  and Mickey Baker (guitar.
