King Curtis Soul Meeting (1960) |
Friday's lunch record is a Prestige records miss pressing of King Curtis Soul Meeting album from 1960. This mistake in pressing is a rarity. The album cover, liner and the labels on both sides of the vinyl appear to be the King Curtis Soul Meeting album but it is not. It is the pressings of the Miles Davis album "The Musings Of Miles Davis" (1955) then rereleased in 1962 as Miles Davis "The Beginning" (1962). The jazz album consists of Miles Davis (trumpet), Red Garland (piano), Oscar Pettiford (bass) and Philly Jo Jones (drums). Songs include "Will You Still Be Mine", "I See Your Face Before Me", I Didn't", "A Gal In Calico", "A Night I Tunisia", "Green Haze".
The YouTube sample song is "A Gal In Calico" (Miles Davis 1955) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjlAp4IJYuk . . bucko
