Thursday's lunch record is "Count Basie and His Orchestra - 1937" (1975). These sides were recorded at two dates in 1937 at the Savoy Balrroom. This is early big band jazz swinging hard with his tight rythm section and a full compliment of horns. In this band are Freddy Green (guitar), Walter Page (bas), Jo Jones (drums), Buck Clayton (Trumpet), Lester Young (sax), along with others and of course Basie on the piano. Great foot tappping record. The YouTube sample is "Good Morning Blues"
