The Horace Silver Quintet, Serenade To A Soul Sister (1968)

The Horace Silver Quintet, Serenade To A Soul Sister (1968)
Monday's lunch record is the jazz genius of Horace Silver (piano). This is a happy joyous album despite the tumultuous time period. Hard straight ahead jazz with steady funk. The musicians are Charles Tolliver (trumpet), Stanley Turentine, Bernie Maupin (tenor sax), Bob Cranshaw, John Williams (bass), Mikey Roker, Billy Cobham (drums). This soulful album is one of harmonic beauty. The YouTube sample song is "Jungle Juice" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSJcZbyTjjs . . bucko
