Jimmy Preston, Rock The Joint (1988) r. 1948-50 |
Friday's lunch record is the collection of Jimmy Preston recordings. This album is a reissue from the Gotham label for Krazy Kat records of England. These are rockin' R&B tracks from the late 1940's. His song 'Rock the Joint" is believed by many as the first rock 'n roll song (that debate continues). Needless this music is the launching pad for R&R. This album contains 14 tracks of his small sax led band. The YouTube sample song is "Rock This Joint"
