 Wednesday's lunch record is a collection of Count Basie's early blues recordings. This album from 1980 is a reprint of an earlier album from 1956 both on the Columbia label. These tracks are from 1939-1956 featuring many of his small and big band blues recordings. His orchestra consists of his strong rhythm section ; Freddy Green (guitar), Walter Page (bass), Jo Jones (drums). The supreme blues singing of Jimmy Rushing.  Lester Young (saxophone) Buck Clayton (trumpet), Dicky Wells (trombone) plus others.
