Friday's lunch record is the Cootie Williams orchestra. Cootie a hot trumpet player and band leader. He was an alumni of Duke Ellington and the Count Basie bands. His band leaned on the blues based big band swing style. An early founder of hot rhythm& blues with soaring sax or trumpet solos. His show was a main stay at the Savoy or Apollo in New York.
