Otis Blackwell, Singing The Blues (1981) r. 1953-54

Thursday's lunch record is "Otis Blackwell, Singing The Blues" (1981) r. 1953-54. This album is an early collection of his recordings. Solid inventive blues  and rythm & blues. Otis was the creative song writer that made his name by penning material for others. He wrote "Don't Be Cruel" and "All Shook Up" for Elvis Presleyalong with "Great Balls Of Fire" for Jerry Lee Lewis and "Fever" for Little Willie John. The compositions on this album are high quality and fun soulful r&b. The YouTube sample song is "Daddy Rollin' Sone"  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mv6DlIUWOLs . . . . bucko
