Thursday's lunch record is by Tiny Bradshaw. This is a reissue album of recordings Tiny and his orchestra made in 1953-1954 for the King-Federal label. Tiny led one of the hottest jump blues R&B show bands. They were known for the up-tempo swinging style. Hot saxes blowin' up a storm. Premiere sax men Red Prysock, Sil Austin, Rufus Gore and Nobel Watts spent time in his band. The title song Rocket 88 is credited by many to be the first rock & roll record, it reached #1 on the r&b charts for six weeks.
