This is Vol. 2 of 12 in the roots of rock 'n roll series on Arista records. This a double gate-fold album, todays listen is sides 3 & 4. Side three is all Varetta Dillard tracks (8) songs and side four is all Big Maybelle (8) songs. Many up tempo jump blues along with rockin' numbers. A spattering of  soulful sultry blues offered. This blues based R&B vocal group was one of the coolest of the cool vocal groups of the time. They could shine on the hard up-tempo jump blues or blend the juiciest ballads to stir the soul.
