Thursday's lunch record is by jazz pianist great Les McCann. This album is on Pacific Jazz records. The microphone is opened to les as a vocalist along with his eloquent piano styling's. He is joined by Ron Jefferson (drums), Herbie Lewis (bass) and a string section directed by Gerald Wilson. The group covers many standards. "Since I Fell For You" (Buddy Johnson), "But Not For Me" (Gershwin),"Love Letters" (Victor Young), "Bye Bye Black Bird" (Henderson-Dixon). On the song "Next Spring" they are joined by Richard Holmes (organ) and Ben Webster (tenor sax).
