Jimmy Rushing, If This Ain't The Blues (1958)

Jimmy Rushing, If This Ain't The Blues (1958)
Friday's lunch record is by Jimmy Rushing. This is heavy Kansas city jazz - blues that has its roots in a swing beat. This was a super fine work by the best blues/jazz musicians during the late fifties. Jimmy is a blues shouter that rocked. The musicians on this date are: Emmett Berry (trumpet), Vic  Dikenson (trombone), Buddy Tate (tenor sax), Roy Gaines (guitar), Jo Jones (drums), Clarence Johnson  (piano), Marlowe Morris (organ), Aaron Bell (bass). Jimmy Rushing started his music career in 1919 and passed away in 1972. The YouTube sample song is "My Friend Mister Blues" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDjMYCyR8JQ&list=PLDJqZdDeMTerXlNDjJaw1t_UF5a_bh60E&index=7 . . bucko
