Tuesday's lunch record is "Count Basie" (1965). This reissue compilation on MGM's Metro label is an excellent collection of Counts big bands offerings. It is a jazz swing-fest with his tight rythm section backed by many of the best musicians of their day. Frank Foster (sax), Joe Newman (sax) along with many others. This intense swinging large jazz band is at it's best on this album. The YouTube sample song is " Softly With Feeling"
