Thursday's lunch record is by Paul Williams. This album is a reissue collection of his recordings. Paul played baritone sax and led an orchestra of 6 to ten musicians, His trade mark song was the "Hucklebuck". Many big name players spent time in his band, "Wild" Bill Moore (tenor sax) and King Porter. This was swinging jump R&B music with jazz overtones. Wednesday's lunch record is the rockin' R&B of Miss Lavern Baker. This compilation of her early recordings for Atlantic records. Lavern had her roots in jazz and gospel singing. She transitioned to rhythm & blues (rock n' roll) with her hits "Jim Dandy", I Cried A Tear" and "Tweedlee Dee". There is 14 tracks on this gate fold Atlantic reissue.
