Tuesday's lunch record is "Larry Darnell, I'll Get Along Somehow" (1981) r. 1949-1957. This is a wonderful compilation of one of the finest jump blues singers during the fifties. Larry Darnell had a powerful and passionate voice usually backed by the slick big band of Paul Geyton. He had numerous successful hit records and was known as "Mr. Heart & Soul". He helped set the table of what was being called rock and roll and he did it with elegance, graceful singing his good looks and awesome stage presence.
