This album is a reissue of early recordings and was released in 1988 on the Bluebird record label BMG music corp. The original recordings are from 1947-1950 and an additional hot recording of Flying Home from the 1967 Newport jazz festival with Lionel Hampton. The personnel  on his early recordings is; Illinois Jacquet (tenor saxophone), Joe Newman, (trumpet) Leo Parker (baritone saxophone), J.J.
