Wednesday's lunch record is Hard Bop jazz album by tenor saxophonist Illinois Jacquet. This album is a reissue of early recordings and was released in 1988 on the Bluebird record label BMG music corp. The original recordings are from 1947-1950 and an additional hot recording of Flying Home from the 1967 Newport jazz festival with Lionel Hampton. The personnel on his early recordings is; Illinois Jacquet (tenor saxophone), Joe Newman, (trumpet) Leo Parker (baritone saxophone), J.J. Johnson (trombone), Sir Charles Thompson or John Lewis (piano), Al Lucas (bass), Shadow Wilson or Jo Jones (drums). Songs include "Jet Propulsion", "Big Foot", "Black Velvet". "You Gotta Change" and others.
