Monday's lunch record is a reissue collection of early recordings of Lucky Millinder's jump blues big band. This hot R&B group was in much demand in the dance clubs around Harlem spending evenings lighting up the Savoy Ballrooms and delighting the crowds of dancers with their high energy swingin'. Many notable musicians spent time in his band. Bill Doggett (piano), Trevor Bacon (guitar), Dave "Panama" Francis (drums), Tab Smith (alto sax), Sam "The Man" Taylor (tenor sax), Benjamin "Bullmoose" Jackson (tenor sax).
