Rufus Thomas, Crown Prince Of Dance (1973)
Tuesday's lunch record is by Rufus Thomas. A wallop of Funk - Soul with the emphasis on funk. Rufus was a hip vocalist, dancer and entertainer. He could ignite an audience with his comical approach to laying out his style of funky rhythm & blues. This album is on Stax Records in Memphis. Cornell Dupree on guitar and the Kingpins. His daughter Marvel Thomas is on keyboards. The YouTube sample song is "Funkiest Man Alive" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1B5u2L8dxbo . . bucko
