Roy Brown,Laughing But Crying (1977) r.1947-59
Friday's lunch record is the jump blues of blues shouter Roy Brown. These are a collection of many of the rare sides he cut for King, Federal or Imperial records. This was during the hot post war period. These are the deep roots to laying the foundation for rock & roll. Roy's singing influenced many generations of blues singers. The YouTube sample song is "Up Jumped The Devil" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPuWpgRkI04 . . . bucko
