King Curtis & Champion Jack Dupree, Blues At Montreux (1973)
Friday's lunch record is this outstanding release. This was the last recordings of King Curtis made a few short months before his tragic untimely death. The loss was emmence to the world. This is hot rythm & blues played by King Curtis and the New Orleans bawdy piano and vocal blues man Champion Jack Dupree. They are joined by Cornell Dupree on guitar, Jerry Jermott on bass and Oliver Jackson on drums. Songs include "Junkers Blues", "Sneakey Pete", "Everything's Gonna Be Alright", "Get With It", "Poor Boy Blues" and "I'm Having Fun". The YouTube sample song is "Everything's Is Gonna Be Alright" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UD4gUtgyBb4 . . . . . b ucko
