J.B. Hutto & The Hawks, Masters Of Modern Blues Vol. 2 (1967)

Tuesday's lunch record is"J.B. Hutto & The Hawks, Masters Of Modern Blues Vol. 2" (1967). This is the blues, Chicago style blues, that is, J.B takes the vocals and guitar. His specialty is the bottleneck guitar. He was influenced by the great Elmore James and matered the technique and took it to new heights within the blues idiom. On this record he is joined by Johnny Youn (guitat, Big Walter Horton (harmonica), Lee Jackson (bass) and Fred Below (drums).  Eight of the ten songs are his compositions.
