Freddie Mitchell, That Boogie Beat (1955?)

Freddie Mitchell, That Boogie Beat (1955?)
Friday's lunch record is featuring the Freddie Mitchell orchestra. This album is on the budget label Allegra Royale. These recordings were made in 1947-1950 most likely for the Derby label. The theme is boogie-woogie which helped develop the path to tock n' roll. Freddie's small band prominently featured the honkey-tonk stride piano driving these boogie tunes. Freddie adds his hot jiving sax solos to the boogie party. Titles include; Alamo Boogie, Two O'clock Boogie, Idaho Boogie, Fish Boogie and others. The YouTube sample song is "Auld Lang Syne Boogie" (1949)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HZesiformg . . bucko
