Thursday's lunch record is the collection of Hal Singer. A stand out tenor sax man from the Ellington orchestra which left for a solo career. He had a monster hit with "Cornbread in 1948 heavy on the honkin' jump blues, This record is on the Savoy label with 16 tracks. Musicians include Wynton Kelly (piano), Milt Larkin (trombone), Walter Page (drums), Sam 'The Man' Taylor (sax), Bobby Donaldson, Panama Francis (drums), Mickey Baker (guitar) along with others.
